April 19 - we worked all day and came home by 4:30pm. We threw everything that we were bringing on the trip into our luggages. Somehow the little one's things took up 1.5 luggage! We packed so fast amd so many things - you would have thought we were running out of the country because the FBI and squad team were coming to get us.
We made sure to let Grandma know to not let the little one nap so she can nap during the car ride to Somerville/Boston, the wife's college friend's condo. Successful!
Trip down to Somerville, MA
Charge when leaving home: 168 miles and stopped by Grandma's house on the way to pick up the little one. When the little one saw all the luggages and her sleeping bag, she said "Go hotel swimming Mama?" We had to prep her little mind that to was not a hotel, but telling her that we weren't staying at a hotel was too hard for her little mind to comprehend, so we said, "This place is like a hotel but it is too small to have a swimming pool."
Super charging station visit: Car recommended stopping in Seabrook, NH to charge for 10 minutes. Knowing there's traffic in MA and that we would be driving around Boston to go eat with our friends as well as need enough charge to get to Dedham Tesla shop the next day, we decided to charge in NH.
55 miles when we got to Seabrook, NH charging station - It was a good stop. We visited HomeGoods and the little one got to go to the bathroom! Yeah for potty training! 1 sticker for the little one towards her reward to go to Disney!
We had such a wonderful time with our friend and her fiancé. We went out to eat and then chatted at her condo. We learned a lot of things that night. Our friends are going to build a Victorian house (how romantic) on a 15+ acre of land with a Christmas tree farm. What was holding them up on the plan? The 15+ acres land within Boston or around Boston are $1.5 million, so the search is still on for that perfect land for the Christmas tree farm for the perfect couple. We learned her 640sqft year 1920 condo costs $120K more than our 1500sqft new house in Windham, Maine. That did not include the $250 condo monthly fee. They said the condo price and condo fee were on the cheap side. Ok...sure.... we are cheering them on for a romantic Victorian house on a beautiful piece of land.
The little one had a hard time falling asleep. She has always stayed at a hotel, so she did not appreciate sleeping on a nice, leather sofa. She kept saying, "Let's go home" ... until sleep won the battle.
